The Becoming FAQ — honest answers from Baz Porter
Frequently Asked Questions

The Questions Worth Asking.

Honest answers to the questions you would ask me if we were sitting across from each other.

i. About The Work

What This Actually Is.

  • What is The Becoming™, in one honest sentence?

A three-month private container where you and I sit down, one to one, six times — plus a longer day in the middle — and we excavate the architecture you have been holding up for everyone else, so you can finally set it down and rebuild it in your own image.

That is the whole offer. The container holds the work. The work is what changes.

  • How is counsel different from coaching?

Coaching works on what you are doing. Counsel works on who you have become to do it.

A coach will help you optimise the performance. A therapist will help you process the feeling underneath the performance. Counsel sits in a different place altogether — it looks at the architecture you built to hold the life you are living, and asks whether the architecture is still serving you or whether it has started to metabolise you.

If coaching had reached the layer you needed reached, you would not be reading this page.

  • Is this therapy in disguise?

No. I am not a licensed therapist, and The Becoming is not clinical mental health treatment.

Therapy processes the emotional content of your past. Counsel architects the operating identity you are building your present from. They are different tools for different layers — and the best of both can work alongside each other. If anything we surface together requires clinical support, I will tell you, directly and without hesitation.

  • Who is this actually built for?

The high-achieving leader — founder, executive, senior operator — who has built something real and is privately fracturing underneath the holding of it.

You do not need to be in collapse to belong here. You need to be honest enough with yourself to recognise that the gap between who you are in public and who you are in private is widening, and that the strategies you have used to close it have not closed it.

  • Why does this work matter now, specifically?

Because the strategies that built you cannot sustain you. The performance that got you to this level is the performance that is exhausting you at it. You will not optimise your way out — you have already tried.

The longer the architecture goes unaddressed, the more it metabolises everything else: your relationships, your decisions, the quality of the work itself. The window for clean rebuilding is not infinite. That is the honest answer.

ii. The Conversation

The Hour Before The Work.

  • What actually happens on the 60-minute call?

It is a conversation. Just the two of us, no team, no assistant, no agenda I am attempting to steer you through.

I will ask you about where you are, what you have built, what is working and what is quietly not working. You will answer in your own words. By the end of the hour, you will know whether The Becoming is the right container for what you are carrying — and I will know whether we are aligned for the work.

  • Will I be sold to on the call?

No. I do not pitch. There is no slide deck. There is no closing sequence. There is no follow-up sequence after the call.

If The Becoming is the right container, I offer the invitation cleanly, once, before we close. If it is not the right container, I will tell you — and I will tell you what I would do if I were standing where you are standing. The conversation is the conversation. It is not a sales mechanism in disguise.

  • How much does the call cost?

The conversation itself has no cost.

The Becoming container is $4,620, or three holdings of $1,620 — but the investment is only made if you and I mutually confirm, on the call, that the container is right for you. The hour is the hour. Whatever follows is its own decision.

  • What if I am not sure I am ready to book?

Then you are exactly where most people are who book it.

Readiness is not the prerequisite. The conversation does not require you to arrive certain. It requires you to arrive honest. If you are reading this question on this page, the part of you that needs to be on the call has already made the decision — the rest is administration.

  • Can I reschedule if something comes up?

Yes. The confirmation email contains a reschedule link. Use it if you need to.

I would only ask that you do not reschedule more than twice — not as a rule, but because the part of you that keeps postponing the conversation is usually the part of you the conversation is for. If the wait is the work, name that on the call and we will work with it directly.

  • What if you decide The Becoming is not right for me?

I will tell you, gently and honestly, on the call.

If the work in front of you sits at a layer The Becoming is not built to address — too early, too late, the wrong instrument — I will name what I would do in your position. You will leave with clarity that did not exist before the conversation. The conversation is the gift, even when the answer is not yes.

iii. The Container

What Is Inside The Three Months.

  • How is the three months actually structured?

Six 60-minute sessions, paced across the three months — typically one every two weeks. Plus one three-hour Becoming Day in month two — the inflection point of the container. Plus the Sovereign Path Report at the close, written by me, summarising where you were when we started, where you are now, and what the architecture looks like on the other side.

Approximately eight hours of direct counsel with me, plus the report. Add integration time between sessions. Realistic weekly load: two to three hours including reflection.

  • What is the Becoming Day?

A three-hour intensive in month two. The longest single block of work in the container. The point where the architecture comes apart so the rebuild can begin.

It is built deliberately at that depth because the dismantlement work cannot be done in 60-minute increments. The Becoming Day is where the inflection happens — and where the work between us begins to integrate at a structural level rather than a conversational one.

  • Do I have access to you between sessions?

You have email access to me for substantive questions or moments that need to be named between sessions. I read every message myself.

I do not offer text-based daily coaching, and I do not respond to crisis-level communications outside of scheduled time — for that, please consult appropriate clinical support. The between-session access is intentional, not unlimited. It exists so the work has continuity, not so it has constant surveillance.

  • What do you, personally, actually do in the sessions?

I listen. I name what I see. I ask the questions you have not been able to ask yourself. I will tell you the truth when the truth is the thing you have been avoiding — but I will tell it in a way that you can hear.

I am not a teacher in these sessions. I am not running you through a methodology. The methodology is the floor — what happens above it is the conversation that needs to happen for the architecture to move.

  • What happens if I have to miss a session?

We reschedule it. Within reason — meaning not three sessions in a row, and not consistently. The container has a rhythm for a reason; missing sessions interrupts the integration work that happens between them.

Life happens. Travel happens. Crises happen. The container is built to accommodate that without breaking. What it cannot accommodate is consistent absence — at that point we would need to have an honest conversation about whether the timing is right.

iv. Investment & Logistics

On The Money Part.

  • What is the investment?

    $4,620 one-time — or three holdings of $1,620.

Both options give you the same container. The three-month structure exists for cash-flow preference, not for capacity-based access. There is no version of The Becoming that costs less, and there is no version that costs more.

  • What is the 80% accreditation credit?

Eighty percent of every investment — $3,696 of the $4,620 — holds as accreditation credit toward forthcoming certification through the RAMS™ Collective Training Centre.

The credit holds in perpetuity. It activates when institutional certification pathways launch. This is documented in the container agreement at the start of our work together. The credit is real, and it is yours to hold whether you ever pursue certification or not.

  • What about refunds?

There is no refund clause because there is no risk to reverse.

The Diagnostic call is the gate. If we are not the right architecture for what you are carrying, no invitation is extended and no investment is made. If we are — and you accept — the work begins, and the work cannot be returned.

The protection is structural, not contractual. The conversation before the contract is where the risk is reversed.

  • When is the investment due?

If you choose the one-time investment, the full amount is due at the time the container agreement is signed — before the first session.

If you choose the three-month structure, the first holding is due at agreement signing, and the second and third hold on the same date of months two and three. The container does not begin until the first holding clears.

  • How many people are in The Becoming at one time?

    Six. By design.

It is not anyone-can-come-in, and it is not a status filter. Holding six at one time is the only way each one is met fully. When the six are full, the waitlist opens. The next opening is announced when it exists.

v. After The Container

What Lives On The Other Side.

  • What happens when the three months end?

We close the container with the final session and the Sovereign Path Report. The report names where you were, where you are, and the three doors that are open next — whether that is to continue the work in a deeper container, to return to your life with the architecture integrated, or to take the path I would specifically recommend given what we worked on.

Most leaders need a period of integration after The Becoming. The architecture moves, but the new shape needs time to become familiar. That time is yours to take.

  • Is there work that continues after The Becoming?

Yes — for those it needs to continue for. The Becoming sits inside a wider Sovereign Leadership Architecture™, and the deeper work happens in containers held privately and by invitation only.

The next door — if it is the right next door for you — is named in the Sovereign Path Report at the close of The Becoming. Not here. Not before then. The path is sequenced precisely because the work cannot be improvised.

  • Do we stay in touch after the container closes?

Yes, in a way that suits both of us. The Becoming is not a one-time transaction — it is the beginning of a working relationship. Many of the people I have worked with return for specific moments, deeper containers, or strategic conversations years later.

What I will not do is keep you on a marketing list, or send you a sequence designed to upsell you into the next thing. The relationship is the relationship. The doors are open. You decide when to walk through them.
